Chris & Maggie | Rustic Wedding at The Music Barn, Sackville, NB | 2017.07.08

February 16, 2018

It was a beautiful weekend in Sackville, NB.  Having been friends with Chris & Maggie, I had planned ahead to enjoy the celebration and booked a room at The Marshlands Inn.  All the close family was staying there and it turned out to be a perfect place to relax.  I was able to meet the family and walk through the flower garden, getting excited for the day to come.  The rain had stopped early that morning, the sun began beating down, bright hard heat. Maggie, such a beautiful bride, and well organized, did not skip a step in the days schedule.  Chris, just could not wait to see his favorite person, best friend.  Back and forth between the dressing rooms, gardens and dining room, I knew this was going to be a celebration to remember.

Maggie & Chris pulled off a beautiful ceremony and then we took a walk by the duck pond for family photographs.  Soon after the walk continued into a Nature Wildlife Preserve and there is nothing sweeter than being in nature on such a nice summer day.  Took a walk through the marshlands and then hailed our limo.  Some bubbly and air conditioning awaiting the bride & groom for the drive to the Music Barn.  One of my favorite parts of the day was when I asked the limo driver to follow me, and stopped on a long quiet road half way to the reception.  Maggie & Chris say that these images, that we took so randomly on the side of road, are their favorite, and I have to agree.  The fun did not stop there!

The Music Barn was decorated with seaglass blues and rustic details scattered about.  Chocolate party favours and an open bar.  After a delicious "just like mom makes it" home cooked style dinner, we cleared the stage and set up the space for Halifax Pier.  The party was so much fun, dancing all night.  I really had a chuckle when a bridesmaid told me  I was chair dancing and that was not allowed, then dragged me to the floor.  But the celebration was not complete without taking the bus back to the Marshlands Inn.  Loaded to the fullest, the bus made two trips, making sure everyone had arrived to their hotel safety.  Worry & stress free, we all had a blast and I can honestly say it was one of my favorite experiences.
